Here follows a glimpse of a series of watercolour paintings that Barlach is working on. It is based on continuous observations of industrially constructed urban environments that are gradually overpowered by the law of nature. Layers of watercolour paint are applied on acid free watercolour paper. The process includes moments of action painting and is embracing a focus on the moments in which past and presence meet. Their sizes vary from tiny to large. Some of them are double paged. They hang in silk threads. Together they shape three dimensional installations telling traces of stories.
